Dariya Akhova is a Senior Policy Analyst at Global Affairs Canada and a Fellow with the University of Ottawa’s Chair of Ukrainian Studies. She received her Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto’s Munk School and was the recipient of the SSHRC and OGS scholarships. She also studied at the Hertie School in Berlin, Sciences Po Paris, and the University of Ottawa.
Beginning in September 2026, Dariya will be taking a break from the public service to volunteer in Ukraine, taking part in the organization Repair Together to help restore homes in Chernihiv Oblast, which have been destroyed by Russia’s invasion
