Population & Security is an online magazine that answers the most pressing political and security issues related to population dynamics and policies around the world.
We aim to ensure that our posts are timely, important, and high-quality; that they include the proper framing and necessary details; and that they are both authoritative and accessible. We place a premium on drawing out policy relevance, making sure articles are readable, and that main messages and policy implications come out strongly.
We accept posts on a wide variety of topics and encourage submissions from up-and-coming junior scholars (including upper-year undergraduate students) and practitioners across varying disciplines at MUNL and beyond.
Population & Security is a tolerant, safe and diverse environment both intellectually and organizationally. We expect all members of our community, including authors and members of the editorial team to respect and adhere to this code of conduct in their dealing with the online magazine..

Email your submission to the blog’s Managing Editor at popandsec@gmail.com, or submit it directly via this website.
All blog submissions that meet our formal criteria in terms of style, length, format and subject matters are read by the entire editorial team during their monthly meeting. The role of the team is to recommend acceptance–either with or without revision–or rejection, and to make suggestions for ways the blog can be strengthened. As a general rule, Population and Security operates an anonymized review process in which the author’s name is withheld from the editorial team.
Once accepted, all blogs are then edited for length, flow, tone, and clarity by the editing team. The editors are committed to working in partnership with authors on edits; though they make the final decisions in terms of style and content.
